Welcome! My name is Shruti.

My work weaves together a tapestry of healing arts, creativity, and connection to nature to help brighten your inner knowing so you can make good choices for yourself and flow into who you are here to be, with all the celebration, love, delight, and insight that brings.

Beautiful encounters are waiting to happen.

I happened to take an exit I wasn't meaning to while driving back home, and there was no reason, just the pull of the road and the will of the car, I suppose. Then I found this delightful patch of white hibiscus flowers! Hibiscus had been speaking to me in the form of inspirations, its innate beauty, and the tart taste of its tea body. Meeting it on the road felt like a nod to keep going, keep trusting, keep delighting.

The magic of connecting with the soul and its ways through the body is that we begin to palpably feel what we know, and we can actually do something with this intuition. We are put in touch with deeper resources within that guide the way and help us live our potential in the present, not "someday when...".

Possibility is not a distant vision; it simply needs to be brought out more into the daylight so it can be appreciated and acted on.

I celebrate you in finding inner clarity and cultivating self-compassion as you blossom into pathways to more soulful expression that match who you are and why you’re here.

While my journey has been enriched and made possible by many brilliant teachers, both living and dead, my perspective remains true to my own experience.

This is what I wish for you—that you can claim what you know and live it.

For me this has been a return to soul in small, but meaningful steps. From taking time for what my heart desires to showing up in more transparent ways, I continue to flower into the open of what I can be, because there is always more, and every step is a journey all its own.

Whether your journey is more similar to mine or out of this world, I honor you for the courage it takes to live true to yourself.

The Invitation

My journey began with trying to find all the right things to fix myself. I had lots of problems, you see, and there was just no way to live unless I was free of them. So pile on the autoimmunes, syndromes, dysfunctional and absent relationships, lack of financial stability, and more, and it gave me a lot to work with. On this went until many times over, life—in the form of loving and insightful teachers as well as my inner knowing—let me in on a secret: there's nothing wrong with you.

The first several failed protocols and years, I didn't listen—I couldn't really hear it. Then I began running out of things to try, and my nervous system was done (aka, fierce love). Meanwhile, the one who likes to make art, play, dance, write, sing, laugh, enjoy, began to wake up, after a very arduous and long slumber.

It's been the way through to something infinitely more real, meaningful, enchanting, vital. And I want to share this way with you, because yours, I'm sure, is as bright, necessary, and unique as mine.

Along comes the soul

So often we are oriented toward trying to find the right thing to feel better. Sometimes this works, which is why we do it! Over time, though, this orientation can lead to stress and an endless search for more. Fortunately for us mortals there is an easier way to reach our goals for health, happiness, and resilience that doesn't take from us, but gives back.

The exhilarating sight of the way parting at sunset as I just nearly made it to a spot on the Blue Ridge Parkway, the furthest I'd driven at altitude for a couple years.

It is a way of living that honors the soul.

The soul is not limited by what we think we know or have figured out. Its intelligence is sourced from the wider web of the cosmos, nature, and beyond.

When we orient to our soul, we naturally gravitate toward choices that support balance, joy, and an overall sense of well-being.

And my goodness! It has a body...

I offer flower essence consultations, energy alchemy sessions, and guided practices to support healthy soul/body connection and restore and evolve your perspective on your needs for living well.

This connection is vital, inherent, and responsive to your attention and care. It's what makes it possible to be here on Earth, and truly live.

Having lived a life where this connection was diminished and doubted, I can assure you that it often only takes small gestures in the intended direction to begin to fly free. Life responds, and we realize that we have a much larger ecosystem of support available to us than when we were trying to pull the cart by ourselves or through sheer will and techniques.

When we attend to what is essential, everything else tends to find its feet.

Blossom into your innate beauty and unbounded potential for self-expression through simple, profound choices to live more authentically
and shine true to who you are here to be.

Sighting a rainbow to help mark the turn of a season of trying and struggle, into something vaster, more intelligent, and more beautiful.

Every so often, I find a snail shell (or several!) in a way that could not have happened if I were navigating with only my human vision and mind's logic. This particular meeting with a snail as it crawled along the leaf was a teaching in patience, trust, orientation, and the lushness of going along with life. While we talk about going at a 'snail's pace,' snails are never left behind by life.

Perched on Wonder

Watercolor on paper, 6x9"

Creating this painting was a delight as I explored watercolor for the first time in months after a creative drought. I wondered if I'd ever paint again. The colors and shapes responded, spilling forth into a dream of my own emergence reflected before me. I'd seen a photograph the previous year of a similar scene in nature and felt a distinct longing to be there. Like birds perched in wonder, as I painted I could feel myself in the transition, a direction arising for my passion to be a vehicle for freedom and change. It feels significant that the birds are at various stages in their formation, and the gold, yellow, and turquoise bathing in a sea of red, like invitations to be fully alive.

Come, back to where you belong

Come, experience

your own party,

the way you belong:

it is a Destiny,

more than a right. Be assured

of nothing,

let down your ruse,

hang up the fight,

embrace your innocent

sight:

wild, late into the night,

fire granding the open

skies,

and twirl into the delight

of things

finally unravelling

and set free

to be;

the way you were made,

untamed and resilient

like the

song of

soul's harvest,

brave light of

the unadorned seas.

"Shruti and I wrote a paper together—it was my first academic publication, and my first experience of writing with another person. The subject matter drew on the feminist care ethic and especially the thinking of Donna Haraway. Our paper keeps being read and cited and I do think it reads beautifully.

Upon reflection I think working with Shruti on that paper was a process of ‘becoming-with'. Shruti has the ability to respond and create through multiple registers: She is cognitively a skilled and thoughtful scholar and at the same time she is sensitively alert and open to feeling into words and spaces, allowing new forms to manifest. Shruti works methodically, tightening meaning without losing nuance. She makes suggestions gently without any egoic agendas. She is a rare and wonderful being to work with.

The second time I worked with Shruti she proofed my PhD. She was already familiar with my work and my writing strengths and weaknesses. It was a relief to have her theoretical insights and support and to know that the grammar would be perfect."
